Regional Director of Operations, Papa Razzi Metro
Hospitality has been a way of life for Regional Director of Operations Corey Barriera since a very young age. A passion for food, wine, and people were elements that were paramount while growing up in an Italian-Jewish family, and that now translate to managing and overseeing Papa Razzi Metro. “I grew up the Italian way. I’ve always been a people person and want people to enjoy themselves— that’s what Papa Razzi Metro is all about.”
Barriera, a Providence native, brings with him 13 years of experience within the Newport Harbor Corporation. Barriera began his career as the Director of Food & Beverage at Castle Hill Inn, the iconic Relais & Chateaux property located in Newport. Barriera transferred his experience when he became Assistant General Manager of 22 Bowen’s followed by General Manager of the Waterman Grille, which is set along the banks of the Seekonk River in Providence. He was then elevated to Regional General Manager for the Newport Restaurant Group overseeing both the Boat House Restaurant and Waterman Grille in Providence, in addition to managing the Boston and Cranston Papa Razzi locations. Barriera’s love for hospitality and desire to bring an authentic Italian experience to Burlington, lead him on a tour around the states and Italy, where he along with Chef Kevin DiLibero drew inspiration from the fun, fresh and simple approach of Italian dining that now defines Metro.
Barriera’s attention to detail and genuine interest in his customers are the strongest qualities he brings and hopes to instill in the Metro team. “Our customers are guests in our home! We want to get you in, give you a hug, and see you tomorrow night!” When Barriera’s not mingling with guests at Metro, he spends his time with his wife, 5-year-old son Alex, and 3-year-old daughter Leah.
